Outlaw, also referred to as brigand, is the name given to any criminal that has gravely defied the law, and thus, is outside its protection, and thus, anyone is legally empowered to persecute, capture or kill them.

The main difference between outlaws and common criminals is that an outlaw is declared by a Lord or the head of state of a race or someone of political recognition, and therefore, an outlaw's face and name is known to the public. Also, outlaws have a more negative connotation than regular criminals.

Once a person is declared an outlaw, their picture, name, and race alongside any other relevant data about them appear in a "blacklist", which is generally compiled by a political figure. Different races and locations of Agea have different blacklists. When one of the race leaders or a lord declares an individual an outlaw, the individual is considered an outlaw in all of the race's territory. Typically, if a brigand is captured outside of the territory of the lord who named him an outlaw, he is sent back to that region.

Outlaws generally have bounties on their heads, which are determined by the individual who placed them on the respective blacklist. The amount of the bounty is set according to the crime or crimes the outlaw has committed and the skill he possesses in the arts of Aera. It is also possible to find wanted posters in certain villages and cities.

An outlaw can be pardoned, but the only ones able to do this are the same lord who branded him an outlaw, or his political superior (if he has one).

Sometimes, outlaws and/or criminals form guilds or bands, with the intent of avoiding capture. Once their illegal activities become known, the whole group can be branded outlaws, even if their faces are unknown. This marks the only exception to the rule.

If a player outlaw is killed, he respawns inside a prison.
